Learn Guitar Lessons - Construction and form of writing songs
To understand how to write songs for guitar, which we hope be registered, and thus ultimately, I hope to have the entire song, backed by an orchestra or piano, or even a garage band - is useful and important to understand the components of what makes a song different, interesting and listenable - the form. As described in our previous guitar song writing articles, you need to look at writing a song based on the understanding of all aspects of building blocks of what makes a great song music. Like a jigsaw seen, everything you want to fit perfectly.
Format, or how a song is the pattern or form that the song appears on paper - and it seems to the ear - and is presented in a music series recognizable repeat motifs at the front, the melodies, hooks, pre-hooks, bridges and chorus parts to make an understandable and enjoyable musical experience together. Something like a great painter who knows that mixing certain primary colors gives clarity and definition - and too many colors mixed, begins to give a muddy and unpleasant effect. Try mixing red and yellow - the primary colors - and you get different shades of orange, as an early Sun Mix in Blue and begins to reach Purple ugly mess. The same applies to musical form and the construction of the guitar song writing efforts - it must be a format acceptable and viable. Lyrics and music and the entire structure and substance, must work together well. (For our American readers English spelling Colors for it with a "u" - as in "Colors" above).
The form is probably the best way to understand when you hear the old format in all success: Almost all with similar patterns and chord progressions. The old favorites - and much of the news - worked because it was musically acceptable and easy to the ear. Many artists have expanded the boundaries of the Way "concept" albums, but not all were able to turn the "Right" songs on the success and therefore, these stars "Band" songs have been included as a bonus on their albums. Some songs are interesting and challenging, but not all the songs reach the charts. They go outside or beyond the limitation of music "acceptable" or the formula or the construction of what the ordinary public wants to hear. One of the artists who comes to mind that I find absolutely amazing, but so little understood speak, even before his death at an early age also was Nick Drake ... Listen to their songs and chord progressions and the substance and atmosphere of his songs - from their albums: Five Leaves Left ... No World Cup of tea musically - but I love his music, simply because it is so different and "Out of the box" of the ordinary. And yes, even has its own style and phrasing and vocal prosody - as indicated in our previous articles, including well-constructed songs in formats recognizable - or forms.
So how can we take another look at the shape of a guitar song? Let's see - or rather heard - the recurring patterns in the lyrics, or guitar riffs, if you want - which may also part of the hook of the songs - and I listened to the construction of how the melody and rhyme and poetry and the chorus and bridge parts fit together - which is repeated in variations throughout the piece. We then take this - and if we are able to understand how variations Song Writers use Form - To mix and match and try to do something that is unique and different and original in our paint box colors. Except that is not a visual experience - but we listen, or sound. An interesting example of a visual "and hearing" song that comes to mind is Chris Rea Joined: Red is the color I have chosen.
